Hello,

I'm trying to put back in use an old Maytag DE7500. Managed to bring it back 99% to life with a good cleanup, new strap and drum gliders.

Last thing I've found is the centrifugal switch heater contact is permanently closed... so it's not safe to keep it that way, even if it runs good.

Anyone know a source where I can find just the switch? Would be cheaper to ship and the rest of the motor is perfectly fine.

A little tricky to find a new one now but here's the old and new part#'s for the switch. BTW, this switch was used on all HOH and SOH models.

GE Motor Centrifugal Switch

You have it this far apart just open the switch and clean and unstick the heat contacts, BK & BL.

Of course when the switch is unscrewed from the motor the BK & BL contacts are closed.

Already tried to separate the BK/BL contacts, they are stuck/soldered solidly.

As for the P/Ns, I'll start looking, but it look's like NLA new everywhere.

A known good used motor might be my only option.

Thanks for your help.
No luck indeed at my local coop parts shop.

Tried a few used appliance places, but they don't keep motors for such old appliances. Found something newer than the GE I had on eBay, so I should be all set in about a week or so. :)

Glad we got US neighbors wiling to help me fight that "throw it to the curb" mentality.
