This weekend I made the trek to Omaha to give Greg a hand with his Maytag Combo. He was having timer issues and begged me to come down to the Corn Husker state and lend him a hand.

Thankfully we were able to get his timer put back together so we didn't have to tear apart the parts machine.

Oh who am I kidding!

A few months ago I was contacted by a very kind gentlemen out of Central Kansas, and wanted to know if I'd be interested in his Maytag Combo. Shortly after talking to Steven over the phone I made arrangements to come pick it up a few months from then.

Fast Forward to this weekend. With the Maytag being in Central Kansas who better to tag along than Greg? And what is wrong with this picture - the person who owns the Maytag isn't even helping unload it from the store!

After getting it to Omaha we were just blown away by how clean and nice this machine was. The history was hazy on just how it came to be at the store so we will never know exactly why it was so well preserved.

This is the 5th Maytag Combo know to still exist. Two in Newton at the Jasper County museum (Whirlpool supposedly shipped it back to the museum after clearing everything from the Factory Store and shipping it up to Benton Harbor), Greg's, and Kim's.

Well, Mad Men is just about to start. More photos to come after 10!

The Snack Bar is closing in 10 minutes....

Okay - more photos!

Clean drum, with some left over rinse conditioner!

The boot is starting to dry out. I have a few ideas of how to revitalize once I start working on it.

Unfortunately I don't have my serial decoder - but IIRC it was produced in mid 1962 making it a late 340W. (DY)
