I have never seen one, either. Wonder if someone bought a portable, converted it to built-in and decided that the shell would work in reverse if one wanted to have a portable??? No fact to base this on, just wondering.....??

Don't know either but I convert gas dryers over to electric all the time. Very simple.

so how do you do that?

Is it just a matter of removing the burner and replacing it with a heating element? I have never known about a dryer like that. Clever. Of corse there is some extra wiring to be done I guess.
