Just fired up my free DE406 Maytag dryer. All works well, cleaned out tons of lint piles in the cabinet, and can see the belts are very short-lived. Went online looking for parts, but not confident I'm finding the right ones. Need all belts replaced soon and am hoping someone can help me out in securing the proper parts. Have gone to auto repair stores in the past to get similar parts, but am trying ensure I get the "real deal" since it seems Maytag parts are easy to locate yet I'm not having much success. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Also looking for the elbow exhaust piece that was missing when I picked up this dryer. Many thanks to all for all the help I've received from the members of this site over the years..!

Belts For A MT HOH Dryer

These are fairly standard 3/8" wide V belts any belt the correct length should work just fine, the missing exhaust 4" elbow is also a standard hardware store item. Let me know if you really are unable to find these belts, from what I can see in your picture your belts may be just fine.

Do keep in mind that the primary belt is supposed to be fairly loose.

it helps to remember

That, although Maytag washer* belts have to be genuine Maytag because of the way they're designed to slip under load, the dryer belts are standard v-belts.

*(real Maytag, not the BOL plastic-fantastic Ropers Whirlpool now rebadges as Maytag)
