I bought a vintage Maytag set (A608 washer) to replace a dead Maytag Neptune washer (bearings and timer). Before I move the dryer (DE309)out of the den into the garage for storage, I decided to dismantle the dryer and give it a good cleaning. Boy, there was lots of lint. Anyway, the rear drum seal was torn, so I ordered one seal, high temperature adhesive, and a new belt (easier to change it out now) from a local parts house. The parts came in and I picked them up. The adhesive is Mayco rubber adhesive. Is this ok to use? Any hints as to removal of old, prep, installing new seal, etc. I'm not a tech. I've never done this before. Many, many thanks in advance for your help.
