I'm new to this site have really enjoyed reading but never jumped in so here goes.
I have a Maytag dryer and it makes a cluncking noise when you first start the dryer. I took it apart and belt looks good I have greased the drum support wheels cleaned out all excess lint. but I noticed that when I turn the fan blades and the motor shaft doesn't turn at the same time speed. Is there a centrical clutch between the motor and the fan? If any body in the know can help me out would be greatly appreciative. I maybe back with more questions before I'm done. Oh by the way it is model # 882

maytag 113, trust lighted controls above.

I am ashamed to tell you though i once had a magic chef dryer, that a penny got into one of the tumble vanes, it was loud when started but for some reason, maybe as the plastic vanes warmed the noise would diminish, trivial but that racket almost drove me nuts. Hope you get your fan blade soon.
