Maytag Gas Dryer

On this dryer do you actually have to light the pilot light in the little door in the front? Or is it self igniting?
Also between the same model Maytag dryer.

Gas or Electirc preferred if you could choose?

The dryer looks like a LDG608. It would have self/auto ignition. Sorry i can not help you with the moving part, i am on the east coast.
