Maytag-Good Morning America

Just watched the story on Good Morning America about closing Maytag. They showed the last day in the factory and sure enough they were making the Neptune washer. I am grateful I learned about the closing from this forum and bought my Neptunes this last July! The new Whirlpools are siting in my garage. It was a sad day for many people in Newton.

Glad you were able to get the last of the Maytag Neptunes. I really like mine. I bought them in 2004 and have not had any problems at all. Smooth and quiet as ever...... Sad day for America that the Maytag factory shut down.

It's a shame that Maytag quality went down the toilet in the 1990's with Admiral, Norge and Tragic Chef branded appliances, the rushed Neptune and the horrid Amanatags. Now Mexico is the new factory for Maytag....Sigh....
