Maytag IntelliSense in black! (Sort of)

Many of you might remember I picked up a Maytag IntelliSense DWU9962AAE in May that was white. You might also remember I wasn't too happy that the panel was in poor condition. I searched high and low for a white touch pad, and I did not find one what so ever. I also made a touch pad in Adobe Illustrator, and was going to have one custom made until Combo52/John came to my rescue! I am forever thankful to him as my childhood dream dishwasher is now a reality. Here is the photo of the old, white one:

About the time I had just finished making the touch pad in Illustrator and was about to email it to a printing company, John replied to my email about the black 9962 he had in his shop. I bought the parts from him, which was basically the entire dishwasher without the tub or racks, and started my work. I painted the panels black, swaped out the touch pad and wiring harness, and swapped the pump out too. Now, here is the result.

I also did lots of work on the racks too over the last two months. I used Ubergoop which I bought of Amazon, it also came with 25 caps which came in handy. Here is a shot on the inside, please forgive me as I used my phone to take the pictures.

And now this is where it gets artsy. I really put my all into this machine as I want to be able to use it as a daily driver soon. I tested the machine out using the test function, everything works perfectly. Here is a shot of the control panel with the back lighting on and the Smart Start cycle selected.

Sure, here it is. Its in Photoshop format and not Illustrator format at the moment. It was easier to show all the layers with the Photoshop file.

Beautiful job, I think it looks better in black than white. I'm betting that machine will clean dishes very well. Maytag is my favorite dishwasher!
