A friend of mine has this washer that leaks sometimes, I looked at it and I couldn't find any trace of anything leaking while I was there but it makes a strange noise during the spin cycle.

What's causing this noise?

Is this a sign of a bad tub seal? I didn't see any evidence of a leaking seal but apparently, it leaks water sometimes.

check also for the top of the tub, is it rubbing the splash shield?....

I had one I thought was leaking, but it was coming from the cold rinse, the outter tub was sweating condensation from the outside temps/humidity.....took a while to figure that one out...

Martin, the washer's outer tub was sweating condensation as it was really humid yesterday and they don't have air conditioning. There was not enough to cause a puddle on the floor like it did when I wasn't around just a few hours before but that could have been the cause... There was just a few drops mostly on the side of the fill flume as the condensation appeared more quickly on that side from the very cold water supply. It was set on cold water wash and rinse (that washer doesn't even seem to have a warm rinse option) so I selected hot water for another wash test and there was no condensation at all, no water dripping from anywhere.

Is there a way to lubricate the bearing that makes noise during spin?
