The agitator shaft has this collar pressed on instead of one piece cutting it on the lathe? Why pressed on? It looks like brass?

Those 3 vertical groves on the aluminum upper transmission tube housing. What are those for? The water is getting past the seal and spanner nut which causes the corrosion on the aluminum upper transmission tube housing threads?

The pics are from a donor LA712 washer and LDG712 dryer I picked up. I found a agitator shaft for a orbital. It's a little different. The collar is a different size. I can have a machinist make me a shaft or maybe modify the orbital shaft. I'm guessing Maytag pressed on the collar to save money cutting a .75" rod vs a 1.2" rod? Or the diameter of the collar has a high tolerance to fit perfectly in the seal?

I was researching plan B. Buy a new commercial Speed Queen but they seem to have issues?

John L, thanks

Thanks John, does your company service other brands? For my home, I'm also looking for a commercial brand that'll last and clean clothes well because I'm guessing they'll last longer?

SQ has Multi-Housing and On-Premises machines that might last longer than their home machines?

There wasn't an increase of complaints about the 2017 and 2018 SQ TL washers?
