Maytag LDG9800 Dryer not igniting?

Hey guys,
My Mom's ol' trusty Maytag dryer isn't igniting. Its a gas model, LDG9800. What can we test to diagnose and fix it ourselves?

Hi there. A question or three... Do you see a glow at the burner which would be the ignitor? If you do, then you might have a problem with the coils on the valve. A common but simple fix to change them. If the ignitor does not glow, then you can unmount it and visually check it for open spots on the element. You can also check it for continuity with a meter. Other common problems include open thermal fuses ( ESP if you have a crappy vent system), bad thermostats and even something as simple as a miss set selector on the console...
