I'm trying to eliminate the lid switch on Maytag LAT9334AAE
model, there are 2 parts to switch, if I can eliminate it
What wires go Where, red, black and white,
thanks for your help,
Kim

If this has 3 wires, and 2 fuses, be careful. I burnt up my control panel trying to bepass the lid switch on one of these.

There has to be somone who knows how to officially bypass the lid switch on the newer Maytags correctly. It's not rocket science, is it?

I tried bypassing the switch on my Dependable Care by taking apart the switch and removing the pins, and it cost me a whole new lidswitch...OY. These have riveted cases, so once apart, these can't be put back together. Unfortunately this makes taking off the cover and soldering the "moving parts" out of the question.

I wonder if a "loopback" connector (like older computers had so you could test the RS-232 serial ports) is available that you can just plug in? Maytag repairmen certainly have to watch the tub when diagnosing spin problems...

Ok Here is the Answer

At least it worked for me. Get to the switch the easiest way you can and activate it to the on position.

This will require taking the lid off . Unplug the machine!

Then, once you have it in place, in the on position, super glue the living h..l out of it. Guarantee, it wont move. Let it dry for a while. I have done this several times with machines that do not have a tub light sequence attached to the switch.

more than one way to skin a cat.

ah...sounds like Mr. Toggle's suggestion.. wood sliver unerneath keeping the plunger "in" at all times (switch registers as "lid closed" )

Others have suggested a match-book cover.

Same ideas all three; mechanical. not electrical bypass.

I like to look

just as much as any other perv,

but if the machine is still under general warranty, I would suggest only a temporary defeat of the switch, like a ruler or other removable.

I'm bringing my "ancient" VHS-C camcorder (and 8 or more extra 30-minute tapes). I don't think I'll be filming much (will probably just let Mom do it all...;-) ) because of the washing, though.

Events like this definitely need to be documented!
