Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Hi Sam

It wasn't too long ago that I posted a link here to a website selling a suitable replacement. They had around one hundred in stock initially that had been sitting there untouched for over a year, then over the course of several weeks they all gradually disappeared. I think it's safe to say the vast majority were purchased by folks on this blog, so perhaps someone will offer one to you. Though Maytag had their own part number for them in reality the switches were all variations of the Gaynor 1055. Those Gaynor switches turn up on eBay with some regularity, but even if they've never been used quite a few of them, if not the majority are going to be broken by now and need repair before they can be used. I did a write up on a temporary repair I did for one of mine that you can see at the attached link if you're interested. Though it's still working fine now I've come up with several ways to improve the repair since and make it more permanent. But for those blasted white plastic springs the switches are actually very sturdy and would last a lifetime, so the key is to replace that spring with something more durable. Anyways, I hope this helps in some way. Good luck.

Hello Sam:
I don't know how well you know John LeFever (Combo 52) but he has lots of old parts in his warehouse and possibly may have one of these. It is good to see you on here. Hope you can get this problem fixed.
