Maytag LSE7806ACQ stacked washer and dryer

Good Afternoon,

I have recently found a Maytag LSE7806ACQ stacked washer that is just about brand new. Only used a few times, if ever. Asking price is $750.00. The washer dates to 2002 before all the water restrictions.

Need advice - is this a good washer, what would be a reasonable price, and what is the longevity of this machine. How gentle or rough is the agitation. Maytag used to be know for a long stroke agitator motion. Is this one of those machines.

All of the Maytag advocates on this site should be able to assist me.

I've never encountered the "Q" as the last letter of a 10-digit model code!  Is this in Bis'q'ue?

 

These are very solid machines and easy to service.  It is the short stroke transmission that was used on ALL Maytags after 1989.

 

I bought one of these used for my mother about a year and a half ago and after some minor refurbishments (new washer drive belt, new dryer belt and tensioner and thorough cleaning) it has run flawlessly.

 

Some things to keep in mind.  This is the "standard" capacity tub (16 gal.) so it does't do well with large blankets and comforters.  The dryer is slightly smaller than a normal Maytag dependable care dryer was so some things may come out a bit more wrinkled if you wash capacity loads.  My college Alma Mater bought several dozen of these machine in the early 2000s when they were renovating dorms.  As of last summer ALL of them were still in service! (They do have a Maytag certified maintenance guy on staff.)

MT Stack Washer-Dryer LSE7608s

This is a very good W-D if you must have a Stack Machine, we have serviced hundreds of these and I work on them nearly every week. The weak points are the machine it is very difficult to install and level properly in tight places, and it is more challenging on uneven and weak flooring even.

The major dryer problems are the right rear roller [ it sits directly over the heater can ] and the cheap plastic blower that likes to come loose from the motor shaft.

The washer is fairly bullet proof, its biggest problem like all MT washers of this era is bad main water seals and top main bearing. It is also only a one speed agitation machine, so we get lots of complaints that this washer is hard on delicate clothing.

These machines are a good midsized stack, although you can get much better capacity [ and durability ] with the full sized WP Thin-Twins, which ironically now also carry the MT name.
