If anyone can help me with a used Maytag washer I just received today, I would appreciate it.

It is a front loader.

I ran a load and the close are too wet, as though they did not spin enough. I even pushed the "Max Extract" button, to get as much water out as possible. Still too wet.

HELP???

thanks,

Mark

Mark, you need to check to see if it locks the door. if it does not, then you will more than likely need a new wax motor for the door lock & a new machine control board. That lovely wax motor setup likes to take out the r11 on the control board. That's a place start.

I fixed mine for $40, new wax motor, triac and a couple of resistors on the control board. no need to toss out the old control board. Mark

The machine control board (the one up top) has markings to indicate what is what. There is a resistor which is marked "r11" and if the door lock wax motor shorts out, the resistor passes too much current through itself and releases the internal smoke. It will be clearly visible if it has been damaged. The cheapest way to fix it is to get the new, improved wax motor, solder in a new r11 and a new q6 (often blows as well). The three parts are sold as a kit on eBay if you look for them.

Newer f/l Neptunes were designed with a magnetic solenoid to lock the door.
