Maytag motor help

Hey guys, it appears that The motor in my Maytag A512 [240V] had a bit of a burning smell from it probably from the old original burnt out capacitor, I’m going to see if I can take me motor out and take it to a motor rewinding shop to get them to have a look at it so that way it can be fixed,Or would anybody have a Maytag 240 V motor?

I just have it laying around from my failed repair on the commercial Maytag.

How much are you willing to offer?

Funny you mention that,

Earlier today about 8:30 am I went to have the motor rewound, what would you consider a fair offer?

At the moment the original Motor would probably be undergoing an inspection

I would accept $5-10? Just shipping might be a bit costly.

Do you have the wiring diagram for it?

Or a photo of the terminal connections just to be sure it’s compatible with my machine

As mine is “black white blue red yellow” I think

It’s a bit dirty but should clean up pretty well.

I’d assume the motors would be the same or interchangeable between the two.

I think it was something ridiculous,

About $130 for some faster shipping, but if you wanting to wait a bit longer I’m sure there is a much cheaper option, will find out asap.

That should work, this is a standard US GE washer motor designed for 60 Hz, only difference is it has finer windings for 230 volts.

 

GE had good motors during this time and design period.

Oh cool

I’ll keep that in mind, so if I brought it over to the US I would probably need to have a 240 V 15 amp receptacle for it
