Maytag N2L Wringer

Hello All,

I have a likely late 60's teal Maytag N2L round tub wringer washer (safety pedal bypassed). The lower wringer (white one) developed a crack, and it's finally decided to split open. I'm looking for a replacement, but I'm not having luck. First one bought on eBay, seller never shipped or responded to messages. Second one must have been for an older model, because the diameter was far too wide to fit.

Does anyone here have a source for one of these, or a used one I could buy? The cottage craft website seems to have some, but $120 plus shipping is a bit steep. We do all of the laundry for our family of 6 on this machine. Lately, washing the diapers has been quite a chore without the wringer!

Wringer frames for square and round tub Maytag wringers were different. Latter is slightly smaller to better fit over tub.

IIRC Cottage Craft Works purchased and or licensed original molds, dies and whatever else from Maytag in order to continue machining new parts for Maytag wringer washers. If it's one thing Amish know it's wringer washers and Maytag is their brand of choice.

While it may seem "steep" sometimes one is better off purchasing "new" rather than "NOS". Cheapening out can often mean buying same part twice, that negates any savings.

With a new roller from Cottage Crafts you're getting something guaranteed to fit, has a warranty and will likely (with proper care) out live yourself.

Sourcing used or NOS wringer rollers can be a gambit. If they were not properly stored regardless of never being used any wringer roller can have issues such as cracks.

There is also simple fact time is not on your side. You need a replacement wringer roller *now*. Cottage Craft has them but their supply is limited. Dither too long and what's left will be gone and you'll be left waiting and searching yet again. [this post was last edited: 12/8/2024-15:58]
