Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know if the water level is adjustable on a maytag neptune? I have noticed that my 4000 series uses noticeably more water than my other 5500 and 7500 machines. They still clean great but was just curious.

you should be able to adjust the level.....there are screws on the pressure switch, usually colored red, that will have an effect on the level....

are you measuring cycle for cycle....meaning during certain times, like 'wash' there may not seem to be enough, but then bleach will be dispensed, and more is added....and before the first drain, it may add more.....and usually the last rinse seems to have the most....then it is really splashy.....

I thought a few of my 5500 were not adding enough, until I watched the whole cycle.....the idea was always to concentrate as much detergent with minimal water during the first part of the wash as a deep scrub, as the stains start to release, then more water suspends it into the water, ready to be drained away....

let us know how you make out...

Were you able to add to the water level?
I have the MAH4000 at home and the MAH7500 at a friend's house.
The service literature states the 5500, 6500 and 7500 use 1" less water per fill compared to the MAH4000. I'm not sure what that corresponds to in gallons. I'm going to guess maybe a gallon per fill.

I really want to find a neptune set! These are great!

I've seen some cool videos of them washing with the door open and I think they wash just fine with that amount of water!
