It's tough to tell without a close-up of the controls, but I suspect they're closer to top of the line than bottom and the washer may have the larger tub. That's a big door "stream of heat" electric dryer, and the consoles have gold trim and clear timer knobs, so they're late '70s vintage. They don't appear to have lit panels so they're not 806 series. Probably a really nice set.

Just a guess here but...
To me, the dryer looks like it could be a DE608
Looks like it has 4 buttons:
Low temp., regular temp., normal dryness, and extra dryness.
To me it looks like the washer might be an A208
Looks like it has 3 water level buttons:
Small load, medium load, and large load.
Looks like it has 2 speed buttons, which means it would have a 2-speed motor
Regular & gentle
And the 4 water temperatures:
Hot/warm, hot/cold, warm/cold, cold/cold
If the washer is a 208, it is a standard capacity washer with a 2-speed motor.
That's the model numbers these look like to me...

Here's the picture.
If those are his machines I would not recommend leaving them behind. They look like they are in really good shape. Those machines will out last anything new on the market. He's never going to find new machines that will compare to those.

No not his machines. When he said he was moving back to east coast from north dakota I started looking for cool goodies. I found this pair of maytags, 2 ge fridges and some ovens. He's not likely going to be able to load a fridge. I'm sure no one wants to help load anything. But the washer and dryer are real close to him. I could set them up in the garage.

That's a decent set, kinda strong on the price, though.

I always wonder why some people extend those leveling legs so far out, just doesn't seem stable, more like their on stilts....

I would say from looking at the washer that it is older than the dryer because the panel looks to be the blue color and the dryer is gold. Reguardless I would buy them. They have obviously been extremely well cared for from the pics. You will be hard pressed to find anything new that will hold up like theses old Maytags do. I say go for it.
P.S. My moms first Maytag washer lasted 20+ yrs and we figured it washed a min. of 3 loads of clothes a day at least 6 days a week. Can't beat those odds

Washer is not older, or not that old anyway....
The control panel trim on the washer is gold, though a little faded, so the oldest it could be is 1975.
As the dryer is a "big load" model, it's a 1978-79 or 80. The washer is probably right there (same age) too.
