Trying to get the DE606 working I prematurely ordered a set of belts and a spring through Maytag on their website. The parts were delivered quite promptly but came from different locations. I called Maytag last week to return the belts but was told that I would have to ship them to the same location that they came from, I also asked if I needed a return number and the agent said no just ship them back. Having to ship them to two different locations made me think - why not just keep them.

I decided to call them again yesterday to see if I would get different information and the service person told me it would take up to two billing cycles for the credit to appear on my card and that she would process the credit. I asked her where I was to ship the parts and she said to just keep them or throw them away.

I cannot believe they did not want me to send the parts back as I paid just under $40.00 for the belts and also cannot believe that the first time I called the agent offered very little if any help.

Anyways just thought this was an interesting tid bit of info for you.

they probably don't care, since they don't exist anymore. All their parts will be liquidated and replaced with Whirlpool equivelants, until Whirlpool can get away with not supplying Maytag parts at all.

It's probably cheaper for Matyag

not to have to quality-check, re-inventory, and re-stock the returned parts.
