Could be because of the water quality, detergent or the machine itself, but there`s something else on my mind, that hasn`t been ruled out by now.
When do you add the detergent ?
If you add it before you add the clothes and then turn on the washer there`s a good chance that a considerable amount of detergent is immediately flushed into the pump and can`t do it`s job in the wash anymore.
Maybe your Speed Queen is less susceptible to this problem.
I would suggest to try adding the detergent after the washer has filled with some inches of water.
