I have two leaks on both front corners i believe it could be a door seal problem or whar else could it be.. I need to price out a door seal. It is a blue seal on the door itself. I got this unit for free :-P also hafta learn the best way to load this puppy so any tips would be great

the solution to both your problems are easily solved......

As to loading the dishwasher...this dishwasher is one of the so called Maytag reverse rack dishwashers. It is so named because the dishes go on top and the glasses go on the bottom. As for the door seal get in touch with Larry at Modern Parts in Parma Ohio, give him the model # of your dishwasher and he may be able to help you get one for this dishwasher (he got me a NOS thermostat and a custom made door seal for my 1957 GE Fridge)...I hope this info is of some help to you...goood luck....PAT COFFEY

I had the same model with the same problem..

...and what John describes above worked perfectly for me. I think moving the dishwasher with it latched probably affected that adjustment. When I got it in the house the first run leaked just like yours. I did this simple adjustment and it never dripped again.

I had one these before and had to replace the door seal. It had grown stiff (oh my) over the years from the heat and hot water. Not a big deal to replace and not expensive either. I ordered one online through sears. The same 2 spots is where mine was leaking. It seems that at the bottom corners was the leaking spot where the seal goes around the bottom corners. It looses its flexibility at those areas more than the others.

MT RR DW Door Seal

This is one of those interesting problems where there is more than one solution, yes replacing the seal will probably stop the leak as will a  30 second adjustment of the door strike. But unless the seal LOOKS bad I have always been able to easily fix the leaks without replacing the seal, this should be especially true on a lightly used machine like yours, and there is always nothing to lose in trying an adjustment first. And even though replacing the seal isn't a really difficult repair anytime you disassemble something old you run a much greater risk of creating other problems.

adjustment

Thank you all :-) i want to try the door adjustment. but are we talking latch or door springs? How do i get to them? Also the detergent cup says put soap in right side and slide door over but it wont lock.. It springs back to the left. Figure i might hafta take off door? ?
