Interesting Maytag washer model charts

Kind of a neat bit of information, too bad they didn’t list the color variations that as they started to come in and also the models available with suds savers etc.

They also don’t really clearly show which ones are helical Drive and which are the earlier Drive system.

Can’t quite figure out with the 1957 washer the 57X is does anybody know, is this the rare model that had fuel injection?

It’s too bad they didn’t list the combination washer dryer production dates either that certainly could’ve been in with automatic washers likewise they did choose to list the Porta washer but not the wringer washers.

In any event it’s a fascinating look at what they built.

And, for John. Sadly Maytag mostly forgot the combo existed after 1966. But, there are some dates that give clues to production dates for the combo in their ‘66 Parts Guide.

Fuel Injected Maytag in 1957? Sounds daring! I honestly can’t remember what that model was. Anyone know?

Hi Ben,

My first MT Combo was built in 1965, I was always sorry I got rid of it, I used it for several years but got tired of repairing it and I did not know any other collectors at the time. Than to you and Greg we have MT Combos again.

I saved a lot of parts and recycled the machine around 1976, I did not meet Tom till around 1982 and he inspired me to start collecting and start a museum of appliances.

Hum, oddly it looks like the second page for the 10 series machines didn't post.

John - I'm looking forward to someday seeing the combo again at the museum. Between the two there is enough to make one really good one.

I just realized I forgot to thank you for these Ben. I expanded the chart near the bottom for better visibility.
