Maytag set going to Whirlpool museum

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

"When Maytag learned about the set the company offered Thompson a new washer and dryer in exchange. But the old set works so well that Thompson took three weeks before deciding to accept the offer with a condition — if the new ones don't work as well she wants the old set back."

It'll be interesting to see if the owner doesn't scream to have the old set returned.

Certainly, I cannot imagine a new Maytag lasting 50 years with only a latch breaking. If it lasts five years without totally blowing up, it'll be doing well.

OOhhhh, Whirlpool better hide that old set, LOL!!!!!

I can see her now, barging into Whirlpool headquarters with big ass crowbar demanding them to return her old set back.

That poor woman!!!

It would be great if someone followed up to see how she liked her new "Maytags"...Wish we could have done an intervention!

By the way this set is not form 1957

Well at least the dryer is not....Maytag did not introduce the Electronic Dry control until 1960. If you catch a quick look at the close up of the dryer dial in the video you'll see it has settings for wash and wear, air fluff, and damp dry APART from the timed dry settings which means it is an Electronic Dry Control Model....PAT COFFEY

maybe,

they can study the mechanics and build all the new maycrap and whirljunk like it used to be made with much more quality and sturdiness they once had!!!
