The machines appear to have been well cared for, but the washer is a bottom of the line one-speed with small tub capacity. The dryer has a large drum that can handle a load from the washer with plenty of room to spare.
Let's see if resident encyclopedic Maytag expert qsd dan will post his opinion on the value of this set.

One of my dream sets I want to own is a harvest gold Maytag center dial set, but I would much prefer a higher end large capacity model. Of course I would prefer a TOL, but I guess beggars can’t be choosers in this day and age, where I very rarely see a matching center dial gold set in good condition selling anymore.
I personally wouldn’t pay any more than $300. I would try to negotiate it down to below 250 but anything above 300 is a hard no.

That’s a deal for a matching set like this no matter the capacity or features. Why are you letting them go?

I would totally scoop these up in a heartbeat for 200. Problem is, I live on the other side of the country. California is quite a bit too far for me, which is a real shame because every time I see one of my dream washers going up for sale, it's never close enough for me to get it.

For no amount of money will the seller find this level of quality or performance in today's world.
Will probably get suckered into an LG or Samsung POS, and will end up whining and crying about it.
For just the cost of a few new belts the Maytags will run for decades and the new garbage will be out on the curb in just a few years.
We live in a crazy world.

I have a 1966 A806 non PP model that I want to focus on. I picked these up before I found the 806.
I just want them to go to someone who will enjoy them and appreciate them as much as I did, hence the low price.
As far as the LG assumption or that I’m naive to sell as I don’t know what I have, maybe ask before the assumption
or read someone’s profile.. I have quite a few vintage appliances. I may not know all the ins and outs but hey this is why all you great knowledgeable people congregate here! I actually paid more for these than I am selling them for and I wanted to make sure I was giving a fair deal. So no, I’m not getting an LG nor any other poorly made washer or dryer. Jillian, people who don't (want to) know the facts behind a given situation are why this whole country is in serious trouble. I hope you find a buyer for your gold set. Not everyone needs a large tub washer, but almost everyone knows that real Maytags were built to last. Post them on CL, FB, or Nextdoor (if you have it up there) and they'll likely disappear in short order.

I've seen lots of Maytags of that era and a bit newer, that are suffering upper transmission bearing failure, from lack of lubrication, because of oil getting thick. Run for decades, with a set of belts? Maybe, maybe not. Never good to ass/U/me, it makes an ass out of me, and puts U in the middle.....

This is actually one of my dream sets. There is not a top load washer ever made that comes close to these center dials. Everyone on here thinks they are pointing out limitations but its actually all a moot point. The lack of two speed motor doesn't matter as an elegant delicate cycle is built into the timer with the agitator designed around moving water through the clothes rather than relying entirely on beating them back and forth. If the set has been lightly used, most likely two belts will suffice. Yes you've got the standard tub capacity- however weighed against the pros it becomes a rather small con if that.

Somebody may get a lot of use out of these machines yet, but people should keep in mind. These machines are 45 years old and if you put them in a family use situation of 10 loads per week. These machines will not last any longer than the cheapest new pair of GEs or Amanas or whirlpools used under the same conditions.
You can’t get around the fact that time takes its toll, and as Kenny said, these Maytag‘s if used vigorously and heavily will have transmission failures, bad water valves, hoses failing, possibly bad timer, etc. in the near future if they’re used a lot.
And the matching dryer will have a lot more problems than a new dryer in the first 10 years of heavy use at this point compared to any new currently available. Full size dryer.
