Well, it finally happened...!!! we where all wondering what might be, Maytag UK is a premium brand and selling very well, lets hope it stays that way...!!!

"Maytag's business is to be integrated with that of Whirlpool in the UK leading to the closure of its Redhill, Surrey, base.
In the middle of next month, all sales, marketing and after-sales service functions for Maytag will move to Whirlpool's UK headquarters in Croydon while its logistics operations will transfer to Whirlpool's distribution centre in Aylesford, Kent.
All four of Maytag's UK brands - Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana and Admiral - will be managed under a new Premium Business Unit within Whirlpool reporting to Paolo Conte, vice-president for market operations in the UK and Ireland.
Head of marketing at Whirlpool, Andy Burns, said when Whirlpool acquired Maytag in 2006, the decision was made to operate the two companies as separate businesses while integrating, over time, functions with those at Whirlpool's Croydon office.
"We are now going to complete a full integration, rather than continue to run as two separate companies," he said.
"We believe it’s the right thing to do both from the objective of maximising efficiencies, but also to continue to deliver the very high standards of support and service expected by Maytag UK customers”
He added: “We are currently going through a consultation process with the Redhill workforce and they are invited to apply for new positions based at the Croydon office, which we hope the majority will choose to do.”
Maytag UK currently employs 51 people at its Redhill office and it is not yet known how many will be transferring to Whirlpool in Croydon."
