Hi guys,

We're selling the Maytags to make room for a Calypso set I bought a couple weeks ago. I'd' love to keep them, but we don't really have room to save them. At some point, we may return to the Maytags, but preferably other models, more features, etc. As second owners, I/we have treated these gently, using the permanent press and delicate cycles the most - hot or cold water washing, but mostly warm washers/cold rinses.

If someone here is interested, I'm in the north Atlanta area...shoot me an email as I'd rather see them go to people who care for their appliances. Other than removing the dryer cover and cleaning (they weren't dirty), I have only cleaned, waxed, and managed load balancing when washing(just taking care). The agitator shaft was lightly lubed, a couple weeks ago, and the agitator cleaned. Photos show all.

Thank you! I have to sell these soon, so I'll be posting them in Craigslist by Wednesday, unless I hear from anyone here. I'm asking $165.

Carmine -

I bought these from a young couple just a few miles from me, in Roswell, GA ..and that the older lady was moving on to assisted living or other.

Chris - I'm surprised you had a pair like this, too. And even more co-incidental, we bought a Calypso set(not inspired by your pair, but I've been eyeing them since hangin' out a lot less time than you - 3 years ago. :-) Hope your addition is coming along.

BVF -

My other half is telling me, "I don't want to really sell them.."

They are work horses - and clean quickly. And they look great. And..

I mean to sell them, anyways. :-)

I agree with bvf, those will never die. Mine are similar 1984 models and the washer had 1 repair in 32 years and zero on the dryer. Parts are already readily available if needed. They fill up to the top with water, wash correctly and clothes are cleaned. Even though they use way too much water than the energy czars mandate, its too bad, I dont care. Stick your energy guide where the sun dont shine.

Panel Closeups

I received an email from an interested, possible buyer. He had a question about

the capacity. So here are some panel details.

What I like about these...one can adjust the temperature on the fly and change

the size of the load. The washer dial allows to change size, temperature, or

cycle type without any problem. For those who know these machines, this might '

not be much of a revelation. I love this flexibility, basic information aside.

UPDATE - The Maytags are sold

To us...or my wife. I'm still planning on using the Calypso's I purchased, but

these are going north.

My apologies for not being able to delete the ad(member status to be updated later).

Thanks for any interest...and keep the panel lights on and water running.

:-) Phil

Maytag Dryer LDE482

I purchased this dryer along with washer in 1988. A repairman back in 2012 told me not to get rid of these because they don't make newer washers and dryers to compare to my old ones.

Now I need a part #306670 Tumbler Front (or Bulkhead) because it has a piece of the metal broken where the Front Glides fit in. However, the parts aren't available anywhere. I would love to purchase on old used one or at best the part mentioned.

Appreciate any assistance anyone can give me.

Thanks,
Kate21

I hated to part with ours, Kate21. I haven't seen a set since I sold mine, but if I see anything, as I do search Craigslist frequently, I'll let you know...but probably not soon enough. So, hope you can find your donor.
