Wow the control configuration resembles the TOL Sears (Lady) Kenmore electronics.

Wonder how quickly relatively unreliable electronics were pulled out of production.

maytag agitators

When did Maytag switch to the straight vane with fins, and no corkscrew agitator that went back and forth much faster? My mom bought the BOL one in 1996 I think. Why did they make this change? It seems as brainless IMO as when they switced the dishwasher loading pattern to the conventional one. I was fortunate to have one of those where glasses go on the bottom and plates on the top. I could really stuff that machine and everything came out clean pretty much. If they'd had enzyme detergent then I know that everything would have been spotless.

The auction states that these units were purchased for a research project. Hmmm, I see some dirt on the tub. I wonder just what it was they were washing with these machines?

I always thought that electronic controls were as neat as lighted control panels. Our 93' WP Electronic set has never had any problems with the control panel.
