Paul, that's a std. capacity Maytag. Probably about 14 pound machine. It's not BOL. It's 2-speed!! And yes that's a fabric softener dispenesr xup. Any Maytag dryer, in white, with the blue colored lowere-panel part (instead of gold for the later center dial Maytags) will make a "set".

Hey Paul, CONGRATS on the "new" Maytag addition!

If I am reading the date coding sheet correctly, it looks like that washer was built in November 1965. This would make it the FIRST model year (1966) of the "06" model line! AND.... with that BLACK agitator, that would make perfect sense!

Unless I'm mistaken, the "Power fin" agitators are all turquoise and have a slot or gap between the base of the agitator and the "fin". This allows the "fin" to flex a little as the agitator moves back and forth (making it a bit more gentle on the clothes).

I'd love to see a better photo of the agitator, but I'm guessing the agitator is Bakelite and has taller fins then the "Power fin". It should be the same agitator I have in my 1962 A700. So that washer should be a std capacity washer. Look at the number of holes down the side of the agitator (for the lint filter) of there are only 3, it's a std cap, if there are more, it's a large cap.

On finding replacement buttons and a dial, contact RedcarpetDrew and/or QSD-DAN. They both have a WEALTH of knowledge RE: Maytags and may be able to assist in finding replacements!

I forgot to ask earlier how the lint filter looked. Was it all gunked up with all sorts of unspeakable crud? Most people don't even know that's a lint filter, or just don't care.
 
MT A206 WASHER

Hi Paul congratulations on your new toy, Dan is correct on the date MT didn't come out with the PP cycle on the timer Dial until the early 1970s. MT like WP did not make capacity claims for thier machines. Your MT is a 16 gallon tub it should wash 7-9 pounds of cotton clothing, your WP-Inglas is 18 gallons and should wash 9-11 pounds.

Maytag Washer

I am looking for information on a Maytag Washer that we had a very long time ago. The top of the control panel was white with the bottom third being gold. On the right side, it had two red toggle switches: one for the water temp-hot,warm,cold; the other switch was for the suds saver--save(up), drain (down). On the top left of the control panel it had a red reset button. The suds saver drain hose was a two part hose. It had a black agitator. Anyone one have information on this particular washer--model--photos? Thanks.
 
Nice 206. This was the same as the BOL A106 except it had a two speed motor. Nice, solid, no nonsense machine. Congrats. Now you should ask yourself "Ehh, who needs this Inglis anyway now that I have a REAL washer?" (Ducks and runs... FAST!)

I always found it odd that our 206 had the black agitator with aqua lint filter/softener insert. I presumed that at some point during its life before the machine ended up with us, the filter/softener assembly had been replaced.

After seeing pix and reading many Maytag threads here, it became clear that Maytag was placing aqua filter assemblies on black agitators at the factory. It still seems strange to me, and bit lame on Maytag's part to have made the agitator a two-tone affair. RCD or Dan, can you enlighten me about the logic behind this arrangement?

Also, I agree that any dryer with the same color scheme on its panel will be a match. Our DG806 was a replacement for an electric model that came with the 206 washer. When we bought our house in 1990, there was only a gas connection for a dryer, so we had to switch out the gold electric for a white gas. The machines were in the garage so we didn't care. Even if it were gold, the 806 wouldn't have been an exact match because the panel was lighted, but any non-lighted panel will blend in perfectly.

paul, larry has some parts if needed, i talked to him recently about the maytag 606 i got in rochester.

i also saw a new timer dial on "parts select" web site.

i love my 606, i use it often, it is a workhorse! 4o-50 years old and they don't leak a drop! isn't that something!

Honestly I never thought anything about the two tone agitator ours had. Even when I saw A606 and A407 models I did not question it, as I figured the color of the agitator was somehow coordinated with the white tubs on those models. It was not until I joined here that I began to realize this was unique.
