Within the first week! I was quite surprised to see this change when I got the envelope in the mail today! They must have had these printed and standing by...

*WOW*

So what is the scoop here?
Do you work for MayPool? What do you do for them?
Otherwise how do we get a recurring rebate?

Is there a Dependable-Care Whirpool in the offing?
I think I'd need a Depends if a 60's center-dial MT was resurrected with a WP logo plate.........

and add WP frill to it..oh my

My Job.

Hey Boys~

Well, I work at the local Hoover Sales & Service Center here in Milwaukee. When I started 4 years ago, in August, my check stubs said Hoover, and came from North Canton (see picture). Then, two years or so ago, when Maytag got their claws on Hoover's headquarters, and eliminated all of the "duplicate" jobs between North Canton and Newton, my check stubs started coming from Newton (my last Hoover stub is dated 6-20-03). So, for the past two years, I technically have been working for "Maytag Services" which is a separate entity from the Hoover floor-care company (just give me a blue jump-suit and a red bow-tie...).

But, now that Hoover is for sale, I think our Service Centers are now being bundled back with Hoover. Either way, now that Whirlpool owns us--whoever we are, that's the name on the check.

The Maytag stub is from two weeks ago-postmarked Mar 29 06, the Whirlpool stub is from this past week-postmarked Apr 05 06.

:)

So..a question

Now that Maytag no longer exists...No more Maytag labeled machines or will Whirlpool create another line of machines of some sort?

in my fantasies, Whirlpool WILL use the still powerfull Maytag name. might work well as their *premium* laundry brand?

I hope they keep the Maytag name...

Just drop the product name "Neptune." Don't want to give any buyers Deja vu!

Brett , I think you are right.

I look for the kitchen aid laundry line to become the TAG. label. Prolly most folks do not pay as much attention to all this as some of us. IIRC at one time or maybe now, wasnt RCA and GE Television the same Thing? Then there were GE laundry appliances labeled as RCA. Whirlpool has ended up with the POWER names, Kitchenaid dishwashers and Maytag laundry equipment. I would imagine some consumers are unaware of all these mergers and acquistions. But they are aware of brand names. alr2903

neptune was VERY damaging, but the Maytag name still has ENOUGH pull with the public, i think. MANY 70s and 80s Maytags are STILL in service now. many people (unaware of the neptune debacle) still equate Maytag with quality.

Seems they're obviously unaware of the Atlantis/Performa (Norgetag) debacle as well...

I'm really interested and looking forward to seeing how this works out for both Maytag and Hoover in the long run.

It will be interesting...

The guy I got my Maytags from also just bought Neptunes, which I doubt will last 26 years like his previous machines.

And then there's my mom, who was thrilled to get a Hoover Elite, and thinks its just as good as the old Convertible she had for 34 years. I won't discourage her there...
