I grew up in a household where my Mom used a Maytag Wringer Washer before she got a Frigidaire 'automatic'. Can someone please explain why some the the Maytags did not have the 'spout' at the drain hose to pump the water out into the sink? The one we had used a metal spout, and there was a lever on the bottom of the machine that you would move over to drain the water out of the Maytag. The one on Ebay does not have the 'spout'.
I wish today I had both the Maytag wringer, and the Frigidaire(bought in 1967).

As Greg said, the models without the spout had no pump. They used gravity to drain. My grandmother had a 1940's Maytag (and an even earlier Easy) wringer. Both had "gravity" drains. She drained them into a floor drain. (She used the Maytag to wash and the Easy to rinse her laundry.)
