Maytag WU202 - where to find parts?

I have a Maytag WU202 that I need a few parts for (door springs and the top flange) but everything I am finding online is no longer available. Does anyone know if new parts are available somewhere that I just haven't looked yet?

Check eBay. Several options for the 901111 door spring kit.

The top flange piece may be a bit more tricky to find (PN 901295 kit, 911940 flange). Nothing on eBay and most parts houses don't have it in stock. This could be an instance where a parts dishwasher is needed if you need to replace the flange.

Hey, thanks for the quick response, swestoyz. I found coastparts.com and they have both the springs and the flange. Will cost a mint to ship to Canada but c'est la vie.

I just learned something about the door springs though: in the pic below it shows two different door springs in the bottom left. There is 9-1111 and 9-1862. Although none of the parts diagrams mention it, I found another page that shows 9-1862 is the "auxiliary door spring" which slows the door as it opens, whereas the main spring helps hold the door shut. The door on my WU202 has always fallen like a stone so I figured one of the springs was broken but I pulled it out yesterday and nope, they're fine. So I thought maybe the springs are just tired but that didn't seem likely, plus I noticed the mounting points for other springs, but there are no signs of those auxiliary springs. Maybe they broke or someone removed them before the unit came to me, but anyway it looks like those are the springs I need to find now.

Are the nylon inserts still in good shape? The 9-1862 aux spring would have been used if a heavy cabinet panel was added to the front. Unless you've got some boulders living in the door the single spring should work fine. Quite possible they've gotten weak or the hole positioning for the bottom of the springs themselves needs to be looked at.

Yup, the little nylon bushings are there and still in good shape. I played with the different positions for the springs but it didn't make much difference. I might try to order both the springs just in case but worst case scenario I'll just get the main ones and keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for the info!

Damn... I had a WU404 that was finally no longer repairable a few years ago and it got scrapped 'cause no one seemed to want the parts...

I think I found the top flange on eBay. Part # 9-11940 has been replaced by 902889 so I ordered one of those. Fingers crossed it's the right part. Trying to get the springs for a decent price, hoping to order them today. I'll post back once I get some progress. Thanks for your help thus far, gents.

I was able to get a timer and the timer knob assembly off ebay

Follow up on this: I ordered new door springs and installed them, and that did not change the door falling open issue. So I looked more carefully at the literature and saw that these models should all have one 9-1862 aux spring on the right side, and if the door has an additional decorative panel then a second aux spring should be added to the left. I got this dishwasher used and it never had an aux spring so that clearly broke or was removed at some point. Luckily, I found a 9-1862 spring on ebay so that's on it's way now. Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion, lol.

Further followup: the auxiliary door spring arrived a week ago so I threw it in, and that finally solved the door falling open problem. Glad for this odyssey to finally come to a close.
