MCM Enlightenment in Silicon Valley Real Estate Market

Who would have ever thought that the young monied types from Google, Facebook, etc. had a true appreciation for original MCM home design? 

 

And who would have ever thought they'd hear about a real estate agent who doesn't consider an original MCM home a candidate for gutting or a full-on scrape job?

 

The article in the link below suggests we might have Apple's late leader to thank.

That's some pretty good news. Last week I was at a friend's home in Atherton. It's an Eichler that they bought 30+ years ago when they were starting their family. They plan to move in the fall and have been lamenting the fact that the beautiful home where they raised their kids could likely be demolished so that a sterile glass and concrete monster could be erected in its place. Facebook is one mile away, and Google is two miles away. Unfortunate tear-downs have happened way too many times on their street.
