MDB4949 Drying Vent

We purchased the MDB4949SDZ dishwasher, I ran the quick cycle to test out its functions. During the dry portion I noticed moisture coming out but did not see steam. It appeared to come out along the door? But when I opened the cabinet door next to it there was clear condensation on the cabinet door. So I put my fingers along the gap between the dishwasher and cabinet and the hot air felt moist. Towards the top of the door under the countertop, there seems to also be two spots where hot moist air is felt during the drying cycle and you can visually see the cabinet strip where the dishwasher screws into and the underside of the counter, that appear to just get hit with hot moist air and then get drops of water after it cools. Water does not spray out of the door either when it's in its wash phase so I think that would rectify the issues of it being a door seal issue. Thoughts? Thanks.

Looks like this model

has no vent at the top of the door, so it vents at the bottom because the console is not tall enough to accomadate the vent. So if the instalation has gaps in the sides, or an adjoining cabinet door has gaps, then moisture can get in between and around.

Interesting, I wonder though, wouldn't the steam cool off by the time it reached the top? It looks like a long distance to travel from the bottom towards the top but then again, if this is the case heat would be being trapped in the cabinet for the dishwasher. At this point, all i'm concerned is the cabinets being damaged due to this...I'd much rather have a vent opening at the side of the door like most WP/Kenmore and Kitchenaids do. I read somewhere that Maytag dishwashers vent through the drain (what??).

Yeah, I don't know.

It may also depend on how hot the water was inside the machine as to how much steam there is.
My dishwasher has an active vent at the top. Our kids have a Whirlpool product ( so similar to Maytag) which vents at the bottom, and no issues.
