Touring an empty laundromat from the 60s/70s with several disconnected Maytag washers and a few Speed Queen toploaders.

You can see the hold outs from the 70s with the avocado seating, sorting tables and that horse.

Would love to see what this was originally stocked with. I'm guessing harvest gold Maytags, maybe GE coinops....?

Come loaded with quarters because there is no tokens or credit cards used here.

All these Maytags

A few were almond color.

Why are they disconnected? What are they going to do with them?

I'm guessing these are from the 90s

Keith, photos 2 & 3 are 90s versions of Fabric-Matic washers. The one(s) with the knobs are the original mechanical selector versions. The original avocado Maytag versions of what was in the laundry room at my dorm in fall 1973, the knob was on the far left hand side of the control panel. The digital push button models were the last of these in the 90s before the Whirlpool acquisition. The models that were just 3 water temps, either button or knob, weren't true fabric-matic offering "delicate, woolens, and Perm Press functions.
