We lost our Beagle, Jack in October of last year and have been talking about another dog since. We decided to wait until Spring or "the right dog" came along. Well, through a series of events, we brought home a one year old Pug last Saturday afternoon. Skyler (my son) bonded instantly with him and gave him the name "Newton" after remembering the dog that Ol' Lonely had in the Matyag commercials and a stuffed version of that Basset I bought him at the Maytag store a couple of years ago. (During our name discussion, Ben was on his way from Iowa and called from Newton to let us know when he would be arriving so that spurred the memory of the Maytag dog ;-)

Greg, Newton is so cute!! He looks like a perfect dog. I think it is wonderful that he and Skyler have bonded so well! He couldn't have come up with a better name either.

PUGS!

Pugs are absolutely adorable!!

Congrats on Newton! I just adore that name!!!

Our friends down here, who we know back from our Milwaukee days, have two pugs. They're two balls of energy!

And, they shed just enough to make you need to vacuum (and brush off your clothes)--but not huge tumbleweeds of hair. :-)

Here's me with Butters (left) and Gus (right) on Thanksgiving.

Congratulations to you and Skyler, Greg. My roommate has a pug, Chachi, and he has more personality than just about any other dog I've had. Just like Newton, Chachi can't be left out of the action, and if you're doing anything interesting, he always has to help. And Fred is right, you'll have plenty of excuses to vacuum!

YAY!! Congratulations Greg!!! He's just ADORABLE!!! They definetly do have a lot of personality and loose fur!! I have to wash my comforter once a week because it gets so much hair on it thanks to this little guy!

Greg and Skyler,

Congratulations!!! Newton is adorable!!!

There is nothing like a dog for companionship and friendship, once they have bonded with you they are your friend for life, regardless....I sure wish the human race would take lessons.

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Newton is so cute, and smart looking! He looks so attentive! I bet he will be so much fun!
Sorry to hear about Jake also!

Go Ahead Now Go (Boom, Boom, Boom), Walk Out The Door

Whenever one sees those dogs, one thinks of the pug in the film "The Men In Black". You know, the dog that speaks with a Brooklyn accent as if he is a Good Fella! "Ok, whadda we got?"

Newton is a cutie! Am so happy for you and your boy. Glad Skyler and Newton have taken to each other thick as thieves. Just as it ought to be!

Congrats Greg and Skyler,

He's adorable. And, those blue eyes... I've never seen anything like them on a pooch. As I told you on the phone and as Terry wrote above, I think it's awesome how he and Skyler have bonded. It's just darn cute--a boy and his dog. And, I think he'll be a great way of teaching Skyler about responsibility, while making for some wonderful lifelong memories for you both. Congrats.

What a Cutie!!

Congratulations, Greg on your new dog. Newton is a real cutie. Also, it's nice getting a dog that's beyond puppy. I expect you'll have a lot of fun.

We just picked up a german shepard puppy last Sunday from a breader in northwestern Wisconsin (Jerland.com). Beautiful dog but life is very busy!! She's doing well with house training but she requires constant attention.
