Mellow Yellow Frigidare dryer

My grandmother had the matching washer, plus an RCA Whirlpool bottom-freezer refrigerator, all in that yellow. Beautiful color - I still like turquoise best, but the yellow sure is nice.

That is one of my favorite models! I found one at a junk yard way back in 1978.The inlet connection was cracked so I replaced it and keptthat washer untill it died(the motor burned out)in 1981. The house where I lived was being torn down for a new highway extension so I left it there.Mine had the window and dispensers for liquid detergent and liquid fabric softner behind the name plate on the control panel.

One of the reasons, maybe the main, I liked the solid tub Jet Action washers was it had
No Pullies
No Gears
No Belts
and when that sucker would spin,it took off like a rocket.The suds and/or water drops on the lid would dance and the hours of enjoyment I spent watching it go are greatly missed!!!The crunch of the timer turning and the rhythem of the agitator's up and down movement still echo in my head.
