I have an old Hamilton Beach food converter, a 1FG, and it really looks awful, despite what seems to be limited use. The paint or enamel or whatever it is on this thing looks to be thinner than nail polish, and it's covered with little gray scratches. They're not at all deep, but even so, they seem to be down to the metal.
Was Hamilton Beach's paint just too thin? Will I find this problem with all their vintage small appliances? I haven't seen this kind of particular kind of wear on old Kitchenaid or Sunbeam products.
