I suppose its possible that they put the refrigerator in the space originally occupied by a 40" range. I noticed that the wall cabinet to the right of the range hood doesn't match the Youngstown set. Or it could be that the original refrigerator was one of the extra wide ones, like we see for sale on here sometimes.
I find it odd that the ad has each section of the sink cabinet listed for size as if they are separate parts. The sink cabinet is all one piece, and can not be divided up. It would be a 54" width.
This set is pre '53, as it has the original style pulls.
