This morning I washed light gray tee shirt with stain from coffee I spilled on it. I used my usual Tide. I was raised on Tide for EVERYTHING but part of the stain was still there after wash cycle.

Reset washer and washed in Foca, one of 4 Mexican detergents I purchased here in Tucson and the stain came out completely.
Phosphates may be lousy for ecology but great on stains.

The 4 detergents sold in the supermarket here are:

Ariel
Foca
Roma
Viva

Viva is my favorite as it has the nicest scent, but with all mexican detergents, they tend to oversuds so i put a bit of fabric softener in the tub just before wash water drains so I don't get suds lock. I AM CONVINCED!!!! I am going to stock up on Viva!!!

Nothing like phosphates for heavy duty laundry. They have multiple actions which are just perfect for laundry.

I've often wondered if Ariel from Mexico matches the enzyme package of Tide, Gain or something else. If the enzymes were equal, and the phosphates were in place, then that stuff could really clean.

Mira que tienen para vendar por aqui.....

Foca this, I want some decent detergents!
I was in

"El Barrio" hoy dia en El Bronx

for a building inspection and came across a PORQUERIA vendor (99 cent store).

Can't wait to get home and photograph and post here my newly-purchased Mexican, Carribean, Central and South Amercian detergents.

Nothing beats the "Blanca Nieves" brand (snow white). This is funnier in that it could very easily be a real legitimate Spanish name.

Ross, dear, you have created a monster!

Jabon HISPANO para lavoadoras

Soap *HISPANIC* for washers
--puro jabon para su lavadora

This is actually grated bar soap in a bag. Looks like shredded cheddar cheese.

Notice the twin-tub washer on the front?

The direction tell us in English and Spanish that 1.5 cups of the stuff equals a bar of soap.

Net weight 400g (hidden on the back in tiny print.)

Briele

for the Spanish-speaking market. Made in China. PAckage directions mostly in Spanish, limited English.

T/L-er shown in directions.
F/L-er => called a "lavadora de ventanita" little-windowed washer. Says: Use Briele Bajaspuma. Wild guess low-suds?

Typo?
front says: con atmos activos
rear says: con atomos activos azules y verdes.
I'm guessing green and blue active bits...

Bravo Toggle....Roger and Nate were over last night to do a few loads in "new" easy spin dryer....Nate did a load with Foca....so much dirt came out that other detergents left behind that he washed load twice....
do you remember when Tide used to make the claim that it got out the dirt that other detergents left behind??

Would love to try blanca nieves and hispano....meantime, Roger and I are now fans of "viva" because it has the nicest scent
