Mexican EASY Filter Flo washer

Hi. This is EASY Filter Flo washer I bought from a friend 2 months ago. It´s about 20 years old. When I got it home, it just needed a motor change, that lost all its strengh for the spin cycle. Now it agitates and spins beautiful. Here are some pictures. I hope you enjoy them.

Control panel 4. I put this plastic cover cause I´m taking this washer to Acapulco and I don´t want dust getting inside the control panel and degrease the timer. When I got it, the timer was really tough to turn. I opened it, sand the terminals so they can do a good electric contact between them, add a little grease to the last bearing which contacts the timer motor and left a little bit in every gear. It now runs smoothly maybe more than new and performs great every cycle. It also has the Spotscrubber cycle and the Spotsrcubber timer knob only for the mini basket. Here are the temperature (C/C, W/C, H/C, H/W) and infinite water level knobs.

why is it that the models sent over seas get the better parts....like this GE...nice white tub

maytag even had a stainless steel tub

whirlpool in australia had a side opening lid that opened all the way like the SQ

but not available on the US models

doesn't make sense

not sure about all machine's history's...but Speed Queen was the only one around in the early 70's to offer a stainless steel tub...you couldn't get stainless unless you got a FL and then they finally showed up in top loaders around 2000.

The one I had looks very similar, only that I believe my GE was a step above the Easy that is pictured, in that the mine had push buttons that were under white plastic tabs(like on the Whirlpool CleanTouch). It had a spotscrubber fucntion and a minibasket. I sold it in 2004, and now I wish I still had it. Was that style of GE produced from 1993-1995?

When did Mexican Easy make these washers? Were they made at the same time as GE's Filter Flos, or was the tooling sent south for continued production after 1995? Was it like Brazilian WP Belt Drives, which were in production at the same time as American Belt Drives, but continued for some time after 1986 (how long after?)?
