Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I am currently a gas user but electric will always be my no. 1 choice, and certainly I would insist on it in any home I owned.

I've noticed this shelf referred to as a place for a microwave. I'm accustomed to them as a warming shelf. Kelly, does this one have that function? Were microwave ovens available in 1968?!

FRIGIDAIRE High Fashion models

From 1965 thru 1967,FRIGIDAIREhad what was then known as their "High Fashion" models of their fabulous appliances.Their laundry line had a washer(Jet Action) that was not only stylish but had features every appliance collector would die for.

The WXP model washer had infinite speed selections on agitation(From no agitation or soak up to 330 beets per minute and from 75 RPM to 1060 RPM spin known as Rapidry)and spin, a built in upper cabinet,a window lid a florescent full panel light which not only lit up the control panel but also illuminated the underside of the cabinet and top of the window lid.It also had a timed dispenser for liquid detergent and fabric softner. There was a matching dryer that had two tumble speeds and sensor drying.

The High Fashion range had an infra red light to keep food warm.they also made a 30 inch range with a built in hot water dispenser and a sxs refrigerator with a convair belt type of ice dispensing. The range was brief and many issues of customers getting a shock when using the dispenser is what made them discontinue the production of this unit indefinately.

Kelly, that sure looks like the one I had. It was almond and everything worked on it perfectly with the exception of the self cleaning option, but I think that was more my fault, since I had no idea how to use it.

OMG

The Tappan and the Findlay model I made reference to are almost identical! Must've been one of those deals where a US manufactuer bought out a Canadian factory (Like Norge and Moffat or Whirlpool and Inglis...)
