Mid 1980s Speed Queen Ultramate Electric Stack

We picked up one of these interesting machines today, it is almond and electric. It is in excellent condition as it was in an upper floor condo with only two persons ever using it. It does need a main seal for the washer however. This is exactly like the one I already restored for our museum that many of you saw and used so I do not need another and I have already parted out another so I don't need any parts.

 

If it disappears in the next 30 days it can be yours for $80, otherwise it will become a new Korean car.

Tilting out the washer to load it looks awfully unwieldy. They should have put a front loader down there.

Mid 1980s SQ Stack washer-dryer

Thanks Greg for posting that ad I had never seen it. Only WH was building a full size stack with a FL washer in the 80s here in the US. This SQ is built like a tank and has bigger washer and dryer capacity's than the MT LE [ G ] 1000s. The full sized WP Super TT that came a few years later [ and is still in production ] and it has as much usable capacity as this SQ. In fact this SQ was replaced with a new 27" WP Super TT which will easily last as long as this SQ did.

 

Hope someone saves it, I did get one call from a Chinese car maker that said they thought they could make 6 of their new cars out of it.
