Hello. I do have 2 curiosites about the "Miele" 410.
1) What is the rising speed?;
2) The "drawer" where you put the detergent is from plastic or from enameled metal? I've seen some filmings with this machine, I've seen that the lid is made from stainless steel, but I couldn't find any image good enough too see from what material the "drawer" is made. And seeing one for real... hard in my country. Maybe they where bought second hand in the '90's, but I don't remember to see something like an 410, 416, 420, 421, 505.

Miele 410

was produced during a few years. The same design was changed a little but was build between 1963-64 till 1975ish.

The drawer was made of a type of plastic, very thick and sturdy. There were 2 designs. The first one was a single compartment, only used during the first year of production of this series. Later they had a 2 compartment for pre and main wash detergent with a removable cup for fabric softener. If i find pictures, I will post them.

You were asking the "rinsing" speed. Guessing you mean the spin speed to dry the clothes? I think I read somewhere that the spin speed was fixed at 700 rpm. The wool and délicate programs did not spin during the cycle. The program ended with a rinse hold, the clothes where swimming in the last rinse water. There was a seperate spin program that emptied the tub and ramped up once or twice till 700 rpm.

If I can find additional info, i'll post it here.
BTW this is also my "dream" machine, but finding it is getting very hard.

Welcome here btw ^^

The early serie

Indeed. It depended on the model. You have a wide range of these 1950ties style of washer. Miele made them in all kinds, both with a fixed tub, bolted down or with shockabsorbers. They where available in standard single fase, three fase or even DC models. The spin speed was somewhere between 420 en 560 depending on a bolted or free standing model.

The machines i was referring to in my previous post where these...

So the spining speed for "drying" the clothes was only 420 r.p.m.? Not 600-700?
That plastic was so good that it looked like metal (at least in the filmings).
I don't know if I can find one in Romania. My only chance it is that they where bought second-hand in the '90's and they wheren't all scraped.
If you will not find one, I will look for a little bit newer model, like 429, 430, 432, through all that they are not so spectacular and I don't like the way that you open the door (I want a handle!).

Thank you for the welcoming. It's good that for now I want only a machine. In Romania people passioned by vintage audio, real size or model trains are considered by a quite many people like some kind of freaks... if you collect old washing machines, probably...

Yes, the spin speed of the 410 was indeed only 420 rpm. Early automatic washers didn't spin very fast. AEG had slow spinning machines too.

The spin speed of the 421S was 700 rpm, just like the 412S. IIRC, the last few models of the 421S had a newer motor that spun at 800 rpm, but I have no literature about it.

Durch langsam schleudern

Yes, I remember when I was in school in Paris, the old Miele (my intro to the brand) in the dormitory Laundry didn't spin very fast so they had installed a much newer Miele Extractor that spun the bejesus out of the wash before you put it in the much, much newer Miele dryer (that reversed every 40 seconds or so). I'd still like to have a home laundry room set up like that.

Boot or bought?
If the story is true, the company wanted to show that is friednly with the consumer and so it's worth buying from them.
The "Miele" store from Deva, Romania made 2 films with early - mid '70's "Miele" washing machines. Just for publicity probably, but still intresting.
