Miele Balance Test

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I think that you can do that with other machines too provided you create the right conditions. The point here is: is it stable every time with every load and at every speed. In my experience these two factors can greatly influence stability, even with Miele.

I saw something simmilar

Before I bought my Miele, Albert Lee appliance did a coffee cup test. We put on the Whirlpool Duet, Frigidare front loader, the Asko and the Miele. All of them failed except for the Miele. I was very immpressed. True, you could create it with other machines with a little tweeking,, I have been happy with my washer and dryer so far.

It also depends on your floor!

We had no choice but to use a Miele on a wooden floor and while it wasn't ridiculously bouncy it did vibrate.

They really should be installed on a concrete floor where possible for ultimate stability.

I agree with the floor...

I have a wooden floor and my previous washer, a Miele, could sometimes cause the whole house to vibrate with the neighbour's teacups rattling on the table while I was there. Fortunately he has always been very forgiving of this issue and he used to say that it felt like he was on a ship that was going full steam ahead! I also had a request once from my downstairs neighbour to stop washing because she had migraine and couldn't stand the noises caused by the vibration.

At other times the same machine was very quiet and one couldn't notice the spinning outside the room. When I bought my current washer, the shopmanager advised my to buy an Asko because of the wooden floors. I have the machine for almost six months now and I must say that I haven't had any vibration issues yet.

Done the same.....

When I got my Zanussi ZWF1440 W 2 years ago, I did this test with a pound coin to ensure it was totally level on the seemingly unlevel concrete kitchen floor.

It stood pretty still didnt fall over but did move a touch. The machine was level enough for me.
Did move when the machine was loaded and on full 1400rpm spin but didnt actually fall over!

Testament to the true quality that Electrolux machines have over the crappy downright awful offerings from Hoover/Indesit/Candy/Hotpoint/Servis/I want profit not satisfied customer companies etc etc etc etc blah de blahs over the past 7 years or so.

It is possible on something other than a Miele.
But not much else LOL!!!

Dont understand why even cheap suspension is used on cheap machines cos they will still bounce around anyway causing damage irregardless of their balance sensors...

Depeche Mode summed it all up..........

There's only 1 word for this: Cool!

Those Mieles sure know how to keep stable when spinning full loads! My model doesn't vibrate much at all when spinning, It manages to spin every load that it does, it doesn't really care whether it's unbalanced or not, it just gets on with it. It's no wonder they make the best machines in the world! Wonder why everyone else can't do the same? Trouble is, they don't have the budget of Miele which is why some others are not as stable as some lol!

BTW, I remember seeing an ad on TV for the LG washing machine with it's Direct-Drive motor and it was shown spinning demostrating how quiet and stable it is by yes you've guessed it, by balancing a pound coin on top of it. So that's another machine you can add to this list!
