MIELE CONDENSOR DRYER SERVICE

Good day all.

Here is my question we have bought a Miele Condensor Dryer about four years ago, and it has been working flawlesly for the past four years, should I however try and take it apart to clean up the lint that have accumalated in its inner workings? Or should we just continue ad infinitum?

It really gets used alot and we use fabric softner, so somewhere it is bound to accumalate some debri.

We do clean the filters on a daily basis and the condensor unit gets cleaned about every six months, but never has there been any realy "gunk" noticed on the condensor.

Your advice will be much appreciated.

Hard to say...

Usually, any dryer should be cleaned regulary. It is a bigger issiue with vented ones as caught fluff is not that easy to reach.
But on the other hand, Mieles are just the best at filtering fluff and there have been units as old as 15 years and
they had close to non fluff at all.
So if you are not used to take dryers apart and put them back together and drying times have not been longer than usual, I would not risk a whole take-apart action.
Just clean the condensor a bit more often (like every 3 months), and give all filters (the big front one aswell as the 2 removable ones in the door opening) a good scrub with a brush and soap or detergent in some hot water. You may recognize grey accumilation in the cornes of the door filters. This is usualy the residue that softner causes and it can restrict airflow, but if so, Miele will usualy give you an indication by either a "clean filter" warning or, if there is a bigger problem, aborting the cycle with an error.
Anyway, if you would like to check, first take of the top panel (secured by screws in the back) and look for lint. If you are already there, look at the carbon brushes on the drum. They should have a certain length, everything over 0,5 cm should be ok, the longer the better.
I have never torn into such dryers any further, so a nother member should take over here...

Why thank you very much for the advise! I have not as yet opened a Miele Condensor dryer, and I don't think I must tinker with it, as it seems rather complex. Thanking you again.
