Miele Dryer Bulb

Well, the bulb has burnt out in my Miele dryer. Took quite a while to figure out what the bulb part number is so that I could order one. By the time I discovered that it was an E14 15watt 130volt bulb I decided I would get more than one, just in case I need in the near future. Found it on Amazon this morning. There was actually a review of the bulb that states another purchaser searched high and low to find a replacement for their Miele. Assuring me it is the right bulb...

I suppose anything can happen, but I've never had a dryer or refrigerator bulb burn out on me, considering the short duration of operation. I think the 30 year old GE SXS that I passed on to my mother in law still has the original bulbs in it. Well, with your new one and your spare, I'd think you'd be set for life now, ha. But I always buy extra parts too, when its handy. Besides you never know when something will become the dreaded "NLA".

130 volt bulb.

I have a Miele dryer so wrote down the bulb information, but then a thought. I have a gas dryer that is only connected to 110/120V line so there is no way it could have a 130 volt bulb. Am I correct?

A 130v light bulb will run fine on 120v current, it'll perhaps be a tad dimmer than specification, and will last longer.  Not uncommon that 130v incandescents are used purposely in business or home situations for longer service life.

130V incandescent bulbs were used in tower lights for radio and other towers,obstruction lighting,and traffic signal lights.These would have krypon or xenon gas fill-to make the filament run longer.

130volt bulbs

I use 130v bulbs at home all the time. They are slightly dimmer than their 120v counterparts, but they last so much longer. The only place I have ever found them is at a Lighting Store/Center. They are not available in grocery stores, Walmarts or Lowes or Home Depot-- at least not here. And they are usually as cheap or cheaper than what you find in other stores.

Old thread but it just the information I need. My miele T1515 has a burned out bulb. It was hard to get out, kind of stuck. It actually cracked on me but didn't disintegrate. Its a 130v, 15watt, made in Italy bulb. But the bottom looks weird. It looks longer. So this is a E14 base? Does it come in LED now, and if so, is it recommended to use as a replacement?
