Recently upgraded my miele washer and my new one has an Express 20 cycle. Great in theory right? I'm happy with the way it washes a few lightly dirty bits, but my problem is it only does one rinse! This is even if you deactivate short, and do a 30 minute cycle.
On my last model, it had a 32 minute quick wash and managed to fit in 2 rinses.
Now, even light things coming out that cycle feel soapy with even minimal detergent, even the twindos stuff.
Anyone with similar experiences or ideas?

Ours has an Express Cycle

It takes 30 minutes and does at least two rinses. However, according to the book if you choose light soil it says the cycle will be reduced by 10 minutes. I have not used that cycle so not sure if that reduces the rinse to one.

We have machined softened water and I use about 1 oz. of soap per load when I don't use the TwinDos system. I have the Ultraphase1 set to 20ML for the wash and 15ML for the Ultraphase2. That seems to be the magic number for us given how soft our water is when I use the TwinDos.

A miele wsg663. Wish I'd spent a bit more to get singlewash and powerwash (and a 1600 spin tbh). As it stands my quick cycle is cottons with short, about an hour 15

Easy Care with short might be a good variant as well.
Or AutomaticPlus.

The "New Items" cycle of you have it should be a nice short wash as well.

Since you got a 1-line display model switching to 1600rpm should be easy in the service menu, but that would void the warranty.

Ooh switching to 1600 you say? Do tell. Though I would be worried it would break immediately and then I have no warranty. I remember once reading there is hardly a difference in the actual motor between a 1400 and 1600 anyway

My W1 860 has the Express program. The manual says it is for about 8 pounds of items without stains.
The regular program is 30 minutes and light soil is 21. It still does 2 rinses and the last rinse is a high-level fill, but you cannot add an extra rinse and the water temps are 85F or 104F(40c,30c, )or tap cold.
I use this for new items that I've just purchased, or for 1 or 2 items that are not directly next to my body. A small rug or something like that. I know most people would be fine with 2 rinses, but I like to have 3.

I prefer single-wash because I can get 3 rinses from it and it will use all the temps on the machine from tap cold up to 60c. I use this to wash white crew shirts that I don't want to wash along with my underwear or to wash a few items.

Both Express and Single-wash can be followed with the steam option so it is a quick way for washing a few garments and steaming the creases out, then drying them.
