So Thursday I got the Miele I have been chasing. I paid $50 for it. I got it home connected it and got the famous intake/drain flashing light. After 2 days trying with the tool I decided to remove the motor. I again went after the impeller and broke one of the 3 fins. Stupid me should have gone from the motor side. :-(. So as of today I will have a new impeller, impeller housing gasket, and impeller to sump gasket coming. There is some corrosion/rust on the very bottom of the motor telling me that the sump to impeller gasket had been leaking before. I tested the motor and it appears to be fine and will run until enough water pours out from around the sump gasket to cause an intake/drain error. The console has a few scratches including the ones I put using a Mr. Clean Magic eraser. I will try and get all of them out with plastic polish. Also the black panel on the front has a hole in it and scratches from the owners son moving the dishwasher around. I see a stainless steel panel in my near future. Also I have the water softener system. When I opened the lid I saw it was dark colored and full of water but no salt. The salt light was not illuminated. Does this mean the system is no longer functioning? Thanks in advance for any replies and if anyone has parts for this model let me know. Id rather my money go to another member than Miele.

Can't really help with anything else but Miele recommends that those with soft water deactivate the "add salt" light by:

opening the lid
pulling the floater tube towards the opening
removing the yellow cap
removing the floater using pliers
replacing the yellow cap.

Am guessing that dark water could have been caused by some contaminants in water?

Couple months ago bought a used G 894 SC with a "softener issue". Turned out it had broken into pieces spilling the ion exchange beads. Bought a similar replacement off eBay and it's been running like a charm ever since.

Impeller parts came in today and the Novostella is running like a champion. Still not sure about the salt system but its quiet and does an amazing job on the dishes!!!

Softener Float

I opened up the salt container and checked the float area. It looks like someone removed the float. Anyone have a spare float floating around that they are looking to get rid of?
